Frequently asked questions.

What kind of services do you provide?

Stratton Christian Counseling is a Christian and professional in-person and virtual mental health and Biblical counseling organization. We offer counseling for teenagers and adults of all ages and for couples. We are also committed to providing training and consultation for churches. We come alongside churches as partners in ministry and seek to involve them as much as possible and provide care for their members.

Do you take insurance?

We do not take insurance. It’s important to understand that insurance companies have their own rules and regulations when it comes to mental health coverage. This can be challenging for therapists who want to provide the best possible care for their clients without being restricted by these requirements. Sometimes, what the insurance company wants to pay for just isn’t what’s in the best interest of you as the client. One option would be to call your insurance company beforehand to see if they will reimburse you. We can provide a receipt and invoice for each session.

Is everything I say confidential?

The State of Missouri licensure laws for Licensed Professional Counselors protect client confidentiality. As a client, you are guaranteed the protection of confidentiality within the bounds of the client/counselor relationship. Any disclosure will be made with your full written informed consent and will be for a specific period of time. The only limitations to confidentiality by the law occur when a counselor feels that there is clear and imminent danger to you or to others, or when legal requirement demands disclosure such as for a court case. Whenever possible, you will be informed before confidential information is revealed. If you have questions about confidentiality be sure to discuss those with your counselor during your first visit.

What are the payment options?

You can pay online using PayPal or a credit card. You will receive online paperwork beforehand for payment information and approval. After each session, the payment method you provided will be charged.
